We understand that dark circles and puffy eyes can be a source of insecurity for many people, and we want to help! At Wake Skincare, it is our mission to promote positivity and make people feel good about themselves. So below are our 5 top tips for reducing dark circles and puffy eyes!
1. Try another pillow
This may seem unusual but don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. Often under eye bags and dark circles are caused by gathering of fluid. By elevating your head with an extra pillow, you can help to prevent this fluid from gathering around your eyes. This in turn will help stop the bags forming under your eyes which can make them look puffy and swollen.
2. Stay hydrated
You can never underestimate the importance of being well-hydrated. We are mostly water. In fact, up to 60% of the adult human body weight is water. Dehydration can lead to all kinds of issues with your skin, especially areas of particularly sensitive skin such as under your eyes. Therefore, if you are trying to find a solution to reduce your dark circles, a good place to start would be upping your water intake.
3. Use an Eye Gel (with effective ingredients)
Our Eye Gel was created with the intention of combating puffy eyes and dark circles. One of our key ingredients is aloe vera. This contains vitamin E and antioxidants which help to both smooth and soothe the skin around your eyes. Furthermore, it also contains anti-inflammatory properties. It is often inflammation that can lead to the puffiness around your eyes. Apply our Eye Gel morning and night and watch the skin around your eyes improve and the dark circles diminish.
4. Eat more Vitamin-C rich foods
What you eat will always have an impact on your skin. Collagen (which is also an ingredient in our Eye Gel) is vital in keeping skin looking young and feeling smooth. Fortunately, foods containing vitamin C can help your body produce more collagen.
A few examples of these foods would be: strawberries, oranges and broccoli!
5. Try to stop smoking
On the other hand, smoking has been found to have the opposite effect. Smoking decreases the amount of Vitamin C your body stores. So this will mean that your body won’t be as effective in maintaining healthy and smooth skin.
Of course, it is not easy giving up smoking and support is provided at Smokefree.gov.
We hope that the above tips will help you on your journey to reduce the dark circles and puffiness around your eyes.
